Weekly Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 1-15

I LOVE the book of Deuteronomy. If there was one word to sum up this book it would be "Remember". The book begins with Moses recounting the story of all the God has done for the Israelites to bring them to this point. And as he does it, Moses constantly exhorts them to "...remember the LORD your God..."! (Deut. 8:18a)

As we read this book together, let us take these exhortations to heart. We are SO prone to forget what the LORD has done for us. We are SO prone to take for granted the blessings He has poured out on us. We are so easily distracted from eternal things. As it says in Hebrews...

Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them. Hebrews 13:9

Let our hearts and minds reflect on all the goodness God has done in and through us since He rescued us out of darkness into light! He is faithful, let us never forget that!
