Weekly Scripture Reading: 2 Chronicles 19-33

If you haven't noticed yet, the books of the Kings focused more on the Kings of Israel, whereas the books of the Chronicles focuses more on the Kings of Judah. In today's reading we covered several kings, but the one we spent the most time with was Hezekiah. He also was the only King we have read about that truly followed the LORD like David. Many other Kings started out well, but few finished well. However, at the end of Hezekiah's life we read this….

And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, in the law and the commandment, to seek his God, he did it with all of this heart. So he prospered. 2 Chronicles 31:21

It reminds me of this New Testament scripture.

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the LORD and not to men, Colossians 3:23

This is the prayer of my heart. That whatever I do I would do it wholeheartedly for the LORD. And I pray the same for you.
