Weekly Scripture Reading: 2 Chronicles 1-18

Wow, it's been a while. Life got a little crazy there for a minute and I've missed writing these posts. But I'm excited to finally be back and to reflect on what the LORD showed me in these sections of scripture. 2nd Chronicles is much more story driven than 1st Chronicles and I think you will really appreciate this section of scripture. I wanted to focus on one verse that stood out to me while reading. It is a very famous verse, yet reading it in context of the other verses was so informative for me.

Then the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:12-14

I think these verses are so prophetic for the time out country, and the world is in. The world is in turmoil. With the a global pandemic causing confusion and fear, and now racial tension causing hate and destruction world wide, we have never needed to pray more. I encourage you, whether you pray often or struggle to pray, now is a time to press deeper into the LORD. May we humble ourselves before the LORD and may He heal our land.
