Weekly Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 1-14

What a great section of scripture we covered in today's reading! It was such a joy to read how God raised Samuel up and I cannot wait to begin reading about David in next week.

As I reflect on this weeks reading the LORD keeps bringing to my memory the words that Samuel spoke when the LORD called to him.

“Speak, for Your servant hears.” ~1 Samuel 3:10b

I LOVE this story because God had called Samuel 3 times previous to this faith filled response, and each of those three times Samuel had not known it was the LORD. However, as soon as Eli told Samuel that it was the LORD, he was quick to listen.

This is beautiful for so many reasons. First, it shows God's grace towards us. It can be hard at times to discern the voice of the LORD. And even though Samuel was not very discerning at first, the LORD was sure to send a word of discernment to him through Eli. (I guess 3rd time is not always a charm...)

But truly, when was the last time you went before the LORD and said those humble words that Samuel said? "Speak, for you servant hears."? What would the LORD do in our lives if every day we opened His word and said "Speak, for your servant hears."?

I hope this moves you to seek the LORD more deeply than ever before. He is so good and He will speak to us even if we are a bit of a hard of hearing at first. I praise the LORD for the patience and grace He has had with me in times past and times present. I'm seeking Christ with this heart today- Speak LORD, for your servant hears.

Be Blessed. <3
