Signs and Patterns
Updated: Sep 9, 2020
But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes someone’s life, that person’s life will be taken because of their sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood. ~Ezekiel 33:6
These are three ancient biblical signs and patterns that I've only learned about in the last year. What makes them noteworthy to me isn't just that they have carried deep economic, political, and prophetic significance throughout history, but that they (with the exception of the Jubilee year) are all happening at the same time this year! Nothing has to happen this year, of course, but we should be aware of them.
The Shemitah Year
The last year in a 7 year cycle is called a Shemitah year. It was established by God to be a time when debts were released, slaves were freed, and no tilling or harvesting would take place in Israel (an economic rest and reset). The Shemitah year was intended to be a blessing from God, but became a time of judgment to nations that once knew God and have turned away from Him. That time of judgment in the past has reached the peak of its intensity toward the end rather than at the beginning of the year. The majority of the American financial collapses and recessions in the 20th and 21st centuries have taken place on the day (down to the hour and minute!) of the Shemitah. We are currently in a Shemitah year and it will end on the 13th of September (the Feast of Trumpets).
The Shemitah year won't happen again for another 7 years.
The Jubilee Year
The Jubilee year comes the year after every 7th Shemitah (7 year cycle), or 50 years. For the people of Israel, it was known as the year of return; If anyone had lost an ancestral possession or homeland, they were to return to it in this year. The land was also supposed to rest during this time. Now, we can't know for certain when the Jubilee years are because we have no record of them being celebrated during the time of Jesus, but we do know that they have to take place after a Shemitah year.
In 1917, we saw Israel retake its historical and biblical homeland after nearly 2000 years (a very significant prophetic event of restoration and return), and in 1967 (50 years later) Israel took back their ancestral possession of Jerusalem, the holy city (another prophetic event of restoration and return). They both happened 50 years apart from one another (and in the year following a Shemitah), which could very well mean that they correspond to the biblical Jubilee! Two years from now, from September 2016 to September 2017, is the 50th year anniversary of the last (alleged) Jubilee year, which is notable because of it happens so soon after the Shemitah year and the blood moons.
The Jubilee year won't happen again for another 50 years.
*NOTE: What are commonly called Jewish feast days (because only Jews keep them, by and large) are actually Feasts of the Lord. They were established by God Himself in Leviticus 23 to be "holy convocations," which means a "dress rehearsal," or a foreshadowing of coming events.*
Blood Moon Tetrad falling on
the Feasts of the Lord
Blood moon tetrads (four blood moons in a row, with no full or partial eclipses in between) falling on Jewish feast days are not only incredibly rare, but they have also marked major events in Israel's history:
In 1492, the Jews were driven out of Spain. All of their money was plundered by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella and used to fund the expedition that would discover the Americas (where many Jews would find refuge). 1948 saw the Jewish people declaring Israel's independence. In 1967 Israel fought in the Six Day War and took back the holy city of Jerusalem. Each of these historical/prophetic events were accompanied by four blood moons falling on Jewish feast days within a year of their occurring! We are in the middle of one of these tetrads now, and it will end on the 28th of September, on Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles).
A blood moon tetrad falling on Jewish feast days won't happen again for another 400 years.
Now, does anything HAVE to happen this September? No. We can't claim that we have God all figured out and He has to do anything. That being said, we need to be aware of these things and prepared for what might happen. Again, these signs and patterns have signaled major events in the past and with the Shemitah year and blood moons converging this year, it would be very wrong if I didn't speak up and say something to you all. Each of these signs (and there are many more besides these) speak of huge shifts in power, troubling times, and events that either push people away from God, or else, draw people closer to God (the latter is what He wants).
If you haven't yet made Jesus Christ your King and Savior, please do! Don't put it off! He's the only one who stays strong when the world starts to shake. If you are a Christian and have drifted away from Jesus, come back! He's waiting to accept you with open arms. Now is the time to be ready and watching for Him, in spite of what happens or doesn't happen! On Christ's behalf, I'm pleading with you! Be reconciled to God!
Eagerly waiting for Him,
~Daniel

Update (8/27/2017)
I first posted about the blood moon tetrad of 2014/2015 because I was amazed, and still am to this day, at the rarity of four blood moons falling on Jewish feast days two years in a row, and at the incredible events that surrounded the Jews around the time that these tetrads occurred.
Many pastors and speakers in the Christian community seemed disheartened after the recent tetrad was complete. It makes sense; many Christians were expecting a devastating financial collapse, major war, or the rapture to happen during the tetrad, but I think the disappointment came out of a misunderstanding of the historical function of these tetrads as signs/signals. One thing that jumped out at me while I was studying the past blood moons was that they rarely occurred during the exact time of the events in Jewish history with which they are associated. The tetrads usually were separated by one (and sometimes two) years before or even AFTER the major historical event!
So, instead of being goalposts, where something incredible happens while the tetrad is ongoing, they function more like signals from God that say, "Hey! Pay attention! I'm about to do something!" Or, if the blood moons come afterward, they're essentially ownership signals from God that say, "I did this."
The exciting thing is that 2017 is STILL in the time window of something major happening with Israel...and I believe that it has something to do with the Temple Mount...but more on that later! ;)
Update (10/12/19)
I mentioned that the fifty year pattern of Jubilee-like restoration would occur during 2016 and 2017. Although I don't believe that these years are literal Jubilee years (see the end of Prophecy Update #2), they do still show a historical pattern that tells us God is up to something. Imagine my surprise when, at the tail end of this pattern in 2017, the Revelation 12 sign fell into place! This sign (which fell on the Feast of Trumpets, speaking both of the rapture of the church and the coming Tribulation period) was not on my radar at all when I shared this in 2015. I see that as a confirmation! God is giving us prophetic bread crumbs; as soon as one trail ends, another trail begins. It's like a scavenger hunt with an ever increasing number of clues that will culminate in His appearing and Christians appearing with Him in glory!
