Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief Kohavi foresees a major conflict brewing on Israel's northern border and will launch the Momentum Multi-Year Plan in January, a plan to rapidly make the IDF "deadlier, faster, better trained and more capable of defending the Jewish state against the threats facing it today."

"Israeli military officials have expressed fears in recent days that Iran is beginning to respond to Israeli attacks on its positions in Syria, emboldened by a perceived lack of resolve from the US, which has signaled its disengagement from the region."
President Trump is gearing up for the US general elections in November, and it's likely for that reason he's hesitant to involve the US army in a middle eastern war he views as non-essential. Like we've seen before, Israel is facing the growing threat to the north alone, at least until the Presidential elections are over.

Well, it's official now. Turkey is now moving in to establish a "safe zone" along the Turkish-Syrian border as Russian troops support them. The Syrian oil fields fall within that safe zone...
