After tremors, experts warn a huge quake is the greatest threat facing Israel

According to this article, northern Israel has experienced 40 tremors in the last two weeks. Experts are saying that small scale earthquakes like these are often followed by a much bigger quake, and the next big one could be devastating for Israel.

This caught my attention for a few reasons. First, a major earthquake plays a prominent role in the upcoming war of Gog and Magog. It's just one more piece of Ezekiel's highly specific prophecy falling into place.

"But on that day, the day that Gog shall come against the land of Israel," declares the Lord GOD, "my wrath will be roused in my anger. For in my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, on that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. The fish of the sea and the birds of the heavens and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep on the ground, and all the people who are on the face of the earth, shall quake at my presence. And the mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall tumble to the ground." ~Ezekiel 38:18-20

We see in the preceding verses that the earthquake takes place on the very DAY of the attempted invasion! The article states that the last major earthquake to hit Israel happened in 1927 - 91 years ago! What are the odds that another major quake will soon hit again, at a time when so many other details match Bible prophecy perfectly? I'm not a mathematician, but I wouldn't guess very high at all.

Another reason I'm excited is that this projected earthquake will take place on a fault line in the precise location required to hit the army, which will be "on the mountains of Israel. (Ezekiel 39:4)"

The article states: "Israel is situated along the Syrian-African rift, a tear in the earth’s crust running the length of the border separating Israel and Jordan, and is part of the Great Rift Valley, which extends from northern Syria to Mozambique."

Below is a map that shows where the Syrian-African rift is; along the Israeli - Jordanian border and straight through the Golan Heights, which borders Syria.

***Also, I always wondered why the IDF won't intercept the incoming forces from the North (only the Lord stops them). Could it be that they're drawn away to the Gaza Strip in the Southwest? We'll see. :) ***

When Gog comes into Israel, the Bible tells us that he will be led onto the mountains, along with the massive army with him (Ezekiel 39:1-2). It also says the reason that Gog and his army invade is to take a spoil (Ezekiel 38:12). These two verses are speaking about the same thing: a spoil exists that can only be found in the mountains of Israel. For these reasons, among others, the spoil is likely referring to the oil and natural gas which was recently discovered in the Golan Heights, the very place where Israel's major fault line is located.

How far away can we be, with so many precursors to the next big earthquake happening in such rapid succession? Only time will tell, but the important thing is to recognize that this predicted event is really going to happen, and, by the looks of it, extremely soon! God is about to step into our world in a dramatic way. Christian, now is the time to believe more than ever that our redemption is nearly here! Now is the time to examine our hearts, to ask whether we really belong to the Lord. Now is the time to turn away from our sin and all our attachments to worldly ways. Now is the time to share our love for Christ with those who don't know Him like never before!

"As I live," declares the Lord God, "I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live." ~Ezekiel 33:11
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~Romans 6:23
For God SO loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. ~John 3:16
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. ~2 Peter 3:9

I say this with love: God's grace is extended to all, but the current age of God's patience on a sinful world is closing. The time of judgment is almost here. God never wanted that for us. That's WHY Jesus died for us! He took the death penalty for sin on OUR behalf, because He loves us. All we have to do is say yes to Jesus as our king and believe that God raised Him from the dead.

He's coming suddenly and soon.
